Private Division, the studio behind Kerbal Space Program 2, has revealed the game will be released as “Early Access” on February 24, 2023. It will be priced at $49.99, and will be offered on the Kerbal Space Program website, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The studio plans to add features throughout the Early Access phase, eventually resulting in a completed experience.

Just like the original game, Kerbal Space Program 2 is a simulation video game, where you are tasked with running your own space exploration program. You have to build your own manned rockets to reach other moons and planets, and in the case of the campaign mode, unlocking new parts as you go. The sequel overhauled the core engine and gameplay to add more rocket parts, enhanced graphics, new star systems (the original game only had one star system), and easier controls. Multiplayer and modding will also be supported.

The original game is still a lot of fun, especially with the vast library of mods available, but Kerbal Space Program 2 is looking incredibly promising. You can add it to your wish list on Steam today.
