You can increase your Rot level throughout your time with Kena, so here’s everything you need to know about increasing it.

Kena Bridge of Spirits has two different ways of collecting Rot. The first is simply by playing through the main story and completing boss battles. After major points in the game, you’ll receive groups of Rot for free, such as beating the first boss and being awarded three new Rot.

Outside of the main story, however, you can also find Rot scattered throughout the world, similar to the Koroks in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Rot look like blue or purple teardrops, and the areas they hide in always give off a glow of the same color.

When you collect a Rot you’ll see it added to your gauge, which also notes how many more you need in order to increase your overall Rot level. Exploration is essential to finding Rot, but luckily we also have a guide about all Rot locations if you need a little help.

Raising Rot Level is the main way of improving Kena’s powers. Higher levels will reward you with more Rot gauges, meaning you can use more abilities during battle. You’ll also need to raise your Rot level in order to unlock and purchase certain upgrades.

Kena Bridge of Spirits has some pretty gnarly difficulty spikes later on, so it’s imperative that you keep searching for Rot and keep making Kena even stronger.
